About KeyToTheKaibab.com

Welcome Kaibab mule deer hunters!

A lot of deer hunters love to chase monster mule deer bucks on the north rim Kaibab National Forest every fall and I'm one of them - of course that changed in 2008 with the over the counter archery tag going to a draw, but that's a good thing for bowhunters overall. I've researched and researched the Kaibab over the past few years and coming across any amount of specific hunting information was hit and miss. I realized that the products and information that I found was extremely limited and was sure that other hunters probably ran into the same problem. So in 2005 I decided to take all of the information, resources and products that I had compiled over the years and create KeyToTheKaibab.com.

My goal is to help all hunters increase their odds of tagging a big buck by creating an information resource and hunting community focused on hunting tactics, topo maps, articles, stories, pictures, books, videos and gear made specifically for hunting mule deer on the Kaibab. I'm no hunting expert and I don't guide hunts. I'm all about hunting the big mule deer bucks of Arizona's unit 12A West and 12A East and want to help other hunters have a better chance at a trophy when they draw that tag of a lifetime.

We all know that unit 12A West and 12A East hold some of the biggest bucks in the west and is considered by many to be the premier trophy mule deer unit of all of Arizona. In fact, the new Cabelas is Glendale, AZ has an entire display section devoted to the quality bucks that have come off the Kaibab Plateau. Bruce Felker took the Pope and Young Arizona velvet non-typical state record in 1993 out of the Kaibab with a double-droptine brute that scored a whopping 258 1/8! Still don't believe that their are big deer up there? Just ask Duwane Adams of Arizona Big Game Hunting how many big bucks he guides his clients to every year - the number and caliber of monster muleys will simply amaze you. Those big bucks will be in those pine forests and on those pinon juniper hillsides this season and there's nothing to say that this year might be your lucky year! Of course now all you have to do is draw that coveted tag first...

Now no good hunting site is complete without an area where we can all talk about hunting deer, turkey and the draw; maybe make some friends and share some stories and photos, successful or not, with the rest of the Kaibab die hards. So visit our online forum often to talk hunting. I'm always open to suggestions so if you have any ideas or comments, or would like for me to post some of your pictures and/or hunting stories, just shoot me an email and we'll get them up for everyone to enjoy.

Thanks for visiting and don't forget to tell your friends about KeyToTheKaibab.com - there isn't another hunting site like it. Be safe, have a great time and best of luck on all your hunts!
