Hello,
I am new to this site. I have had one of your water hole maps for the last two years. I wanted to sare the pictures of the buck I took last thursday evening August 28, 2008. I shot this buck at 5:40 pm setting a game trail in a tree stand on the edge of the burn. I found an area on the edge of the burn that the deer seemed to be using going from feed to their bedding area. The buck came in from behind me and I heard him step on a branch I turned to see what was behind me and I saw this buck traveling the trail. I was not sure if the buck was going to give me an opportunity but as luck would have it there was a big four point on the ridge above him to my right when the buck turned to look up the ridge at the other buck at that point he gave me a perfect broadside shot at 40 yards. I got to full draw and steadied my 40 yard pin behind his front sholder, and let it fly the shot was perfect. And I watched from my tree stand as the buck made it 60 yards and piled up. I passed on 3 small bucks during the hunt hopeing for an oppertuneity on a decent buck, I never dreamed I would score on a buck like this. The buck is a 7x8 and scored 186 2/8 non typical. The hunt was alot tougher this year sitting a tree stand with out the people in the woods moveing the deer around, and all the tanks I visted either had a ground blind or a tree stand at them. Good luck to the rest of you that are still out hunting

Bird Hunter that is one awesome buck! Look at all that character in his rack. Congrats - looks like you've set the archery standard with that big boy! _________________ Ryan Ghan

| Thanks guys, the pictures really don't due this buck justice. I'ts hard to get the right angle to really show all the the stickers that he has. Thanks for all the kind words, Im going back tommorrow with my Brother in law who still has a tag. I plan to just sit with my 15x56 Swarovski's and just do a bunch of glassing while he sits his tree stand. Hopefully I can post a picture of his buck on Tuesday. |

BH,
How'd your brother do??? I think the 12A early hunters need to see some more big bucks on the ground to get the blood flowin. I know you weren't the only one to tag out, so come on archers let see some pics! _________________ Ryan Ghan
